FAQs
WHat do i wear?
We request that guests refrain from wearing all black, as this colour is reserved for the bridal party.
We want everyone to feel as comfortable as possible, for that reason we do not have a firm dress code. For those who would like a little more guidance; think cocktail/formal attire.
I use a wheelchair/walking aid, are the venues accessible?
Accessibility was front of mind when choosing our venues. Should you require a ramp, please enter the Sunken Gardens from Car Park 20. An accessible female bathroom is located on the north side of General Purpose Building 2 (south of the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery) and an accessible male bathroom is located to the west side of the Arts building. For Lamont’s Bishops house, please enter through the Spring Street or Mounts Bay Road gates to avoid the stairs. There are accessible bathrooms on site.
If there are any other aids that may be required to help you have the best day possible, please let us know as we would love to accomodate.
I have allergies or a dietary requirement.
Too easy! We ask that you let us know ASAP when you RSVP so that we can inform the chefs. There will also be a seating chart to ensure that anyone with restrictions, or allergies gets the right meal for them!
Are kids allowed?
We love your little ones! But, to protect little eyes and ears, for this day only we kindly request that it is an adults-only celebration.
That being said, if this stops you from being able to attend, please let us know and we can organise something.
Is there parking?
There are plenty of paid parking sites at and around The Sunken Gardens, our fave option being Fairway street, however, the parking at Lamont’s Bishops House is limited and costly. For Lamont’s Bishops House, the best we have found is at the Perth Convention Center.
What’s the address?
Ceremony: The Sunken Gardens located within the University of Western Australia (UWA) - 35 Stirling Hwy, Crawley WA 6009
Reception: Lamont’s Bishops House - Cnr Spring St & Mounts Bay Road
Perth WA 6000
For timing please check the ‘Timeline’ page.
Can i bring a plus one?
We are happy to discuss this on an individual basis, however, we just ask that you consider that our venues have capacities that we need to adhere to.
i’m not from this neck of the woods, what’s the weather going to be like?
Perth in early December is in the Noongar season of Birak. Birak is characterised by weather that is typically warm/hot and dry during the day - usually in the high 20s. During the evening, sea breezes come through, so be sure to pack a jacket!
How do i get between venues?
The venues are intentionally close together. If you are driving, there is under 10 minutes between the venues. You could also catch an affordable Uber or Taxi. Alternatively, you can catch the free purple CAT bus, or the 950 or 955 busses.
I need a hotel, where should i look?
Both the ceremony and the reception are close to the city, so look for places either in the city or in the suburbs surrounding the Kings Park and Botanic Garden.
